About Us
The Central Victorian IT Cluster is a recent initiative of Regional Development Victoria working in conjunction with the City of Greater Bendigo. One of the first steps to deliver this initiative has been to merge with the Ecommerce Association, an established and successful network of Ecommerce and IT professionals in Bendigo and Central Victoria, with the Steering Committee of the ICT Cluster. For members and non-members alike, we believe the formation of this organization will allow Central Victoria to develop a profile for networking within the Region. More importantly CVITC will extend the boundaries of capability by aggregating demand and tackling some major projects outside the region, nationally and internationally. Key objectives of the Cluster include:
- Building collaborative relationships
- Initiating , facilitating and managing collaborative projects
- Enhancing the business development capabilities of members
- Promoting Government investment and funding
- Advocating/promoting the IT/ICT sector as a platform across all businesses and
- Developing innovative revenue streams
- Pursuing major projects working with the membership base
The Cluster’s Role and Services The Cluster will work directly with key government agencies and industry stakeholders such as Regional Development Victoria, AusIndustry, Central Victorian Area Consultative Committee, Industry Capability Network, the City of Greater Bendigo and other State and Federal agencies. We will be directly involved in local ecommerce and ICT strategy and policy development. We will also forge relationships and linkages with education (including LaTrobe University, BRIT, Continuing Education, and Australian Technical College), health and other sectors which have a strong need for ICT capability. We will help facilitate and encourage export opportunities and are preparing for a major trade mission from Singapore with ICT Specificity in September 2007. Our events will showcase success stories which have relevance and provide opportunity for members to extend their thinking and business capability. We will invite a number of leading IT exponents about their availability to come and share their experiences with the CVITC. CVITC will continue the executive development and education forums which have been championed by the Ecommerce Association. We will develop links and reciprocal arrangements with other organizations in ICT both in Australia and overseas. Registration is open to all organisations with an interest in ICT in the Region. Registration is free of charge.
